I’m Alana

greetings!

FOR NEARLY A DECADE

I've worked with a wide range of individuals, relationships, and even families, on their journey to mental health and wellness.

Why sex therapy, you ask? It all started with an undergraduate research project where I wanted to show how attachment style (you know, secure, anxious, avoidant, etc.) could be linked to the kinds of infidelity people commit in relationships. Being a relationship therapist was a natural extension of my curiosity!

Along my journey, I studied at the Council for Relationships in Philadelphia, worked at a family-therapy-based agency in Washington County, and took a part-time position with an agency in Vancouver, WA leading groups for their Intensive Outpatient Program. My true passion though, was working with partners and highly motivated individuals on their sexual health, wellness and identity.

I would love to meet you!

My role is to support you in building positive, secure relationships...

I started Portland Sex Therapy in 2015 to help realize my dream and focus on my passion of helping others explore and live up to their sexual and relational potential!

As a systemic therapist, I believe that people are connected to each other through a system of intertwining relationships. Sometimes, as people encounter changes, problems arise that individuals, couples and partners cannot handle on their own.

My role is to support you in building positive, secure relationships that will improve your well-being and interpersonal experiences..

I utilize a variety of models and evidence-based practices to assist clients including, emotion-focused therapy (EFT), internal family systems, narrative therapy and relational life therapy (RLT).

No matter your ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, romantic orientation, neurotype, disability status, gender identity, and all the unique aspects that make you who you are - you belong here.

As a queer and late-diagnosed AuDHD individual, I know firsthand the power of being understood and affirmed. My practice is committed to creating a safe, compassionate space for everyone who seeks me out. Here, I strive to provide an environment that honors and celebrates your full identity.

I also recognize the responsibility I hold as a person with multiple privileged identities, and I am committed to maintaining an anti-racist, anti-oppressive practice. This means that I work diligently to address the power structures that exist both within myself and in the larger systems we all navigate. I aim to foster a practice where we can break down barriers, elevate your voice, and work together to create the life and relationships you deserve.

Every part of you is welcome...
